Taking the pain out of “growing pains.”
Our minds will work overtime to keep us from the Threshold of Tolerance, the place where we must go to reach a point of resolve.
When we get hurt, the urge to lash out is instinctive. We immediately seek to blame someone or something external, or we turn on ourselves. This blocks our path to healing.
To avoid the pain of regret and disappointment, we often try to turn every failure and mistake into an “opportunity” or a “lesson.” But when we bypass the pain, we deny ourselves the true growth opportunity.
What if the fear and doubt were not regression, but a portal to the next stage of progress?
Anger is a fire that consumes us. The only way to put the fire out is to feel the heat.
