One foundational piece when establishing a new coaching relationship is to get clear on the client’s vision. And this is the first place many clients get stuck. Whether I’m helping a client with a home purchase, career change, relationship, fitness goal, or something else, I’ll start by asking the client what they want.
Many don’t know.
Others think they know.
They look at what others do and what others have and they decide they want the same thing. On paper, it looks good.
The problem is that we don’t live life on paper. Often, those same clients end back at square one, not knowing what they want.
And that’s ok. Because by virtue of discovering what they don’t want, they are a step closer to knowing what they do want.
Experience is the best teacher in his areas. It will show you what you do want and what you don’t want.
If you’re yet sure what you want, that’s ok.
Keep having experiences. Pay attention to what is working for you and what isn’t working for you. The parts you like and the parts you don’t like. Make notes.
Eventually, you’ll hit on what you want.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
