Recovery and healing are not linear processes.
I know this from many past experiences with illness and injury. And I’m being reminded of it as I recover from what appears to be long-COVID.
Some days are good. Some days are a challenge.
Some days I have good strength. Other days I struggle.
Some days feel productive and my thoughts and ideas are firing. Other days I can hardly come up with words.
I want this to be over; I want to reach the part of the journey where the road starts going in the direction of my dreams, rather than looping around.
This process of healing requires a lot of patience.
But even more than patience, it requires self-compassion.
Each day I must remind myself:
Do what you can with what you have. Let it be enough.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
