How to dissipate fear and live in the moment. Plus, the secret force that sabotages relationships and the simple way to eliminate it and bring more of yourself to those you love.
The Secret to Bouncing Back
Today, instead of traveling to Philadelphia for my 20 year college reunion at Penn, I traveled to Brooklyn for trampoline practice, where I enjoyed a reunion with my friend Amanda.
Amanda and I met 2 years ago through trampoline. Last year she didn’t come to trampoline at all; she missed the season because she was pregnant. She had a baby girl last July and today she was back — for the first time since Fall 2015.
And it was like she had never left. I was in awe of her fearlessness and her great form in her skills. As we chatted about the secrets to her killer comeback, I knew I had to interview her for my weekly Periscope show.
My intention was to discuss how she dissipated the fear in coming back (trampoline can be scary!). Amanda had some great insights on that front, and we ended up covering so much more.
Amanda spoke so eloquently about several key issues that are highly relevant not just to mothers but to anyone who is driven by a desire to serve others. And what is a mother if not a person motivated by a mission to serve others?
Here’s what we covered:
➡️ the mindset that dissipates fear
➡️ how to make the most of every moment
➡️ the emotion that will sabotage relationships — with your spouse, partner, clients, or anyone else — and cause stagnation, and what you MUST do to minimize or eliminate it.
This last one is huge. It’s something that I’ve noticed surface in myself and I’ve uncovered it in my work with clients too. It’s a silent saboteur, and if we don’t recognize it and take steps to prevent it, it can derail progress in relationships, business and life. It comes at about the 5-minute mark. And we’ll talk more about it sometime soon.
Friends, this episode is SO GOOD that I rewatched it a few times to take notes. We packed a lot of wisdom into just over 7 minutes.
It’s so worth watching that I’m not even going to ask you to go to Periscope to find the replay. I’m putting the video here for you to watch. No excuses!!
After you watch the video, please share in the comments:
- what is your biggest takeaway?
- how will you implement this in your life this week?
