A Reason to Rise Before Dawn

I restore myself
with the peaceful morning vibe
to nourish my day

There’s no better evidence that linear clock time is manufactured than the biannual changing of the clocks.

The “spring forward” meant that I was once again waking up to darkness at 6:15 am. But instead of lamenting the shift, I found reason to celebrate.

Looking out the window, I saw a star that seemed brighter than the others. I realized that this was not just a star. An augmented reality app that shows the planetary placements confirmed that it was Venus, which is currently visible as a morning star.

As I stood outside in the growing morning light I felt peace and healing from nature, and received this gift of poetry from my muse.

just before the dawn
Venus shines it’s guiding light
and birds awaken

on a high tree branch
robin sings a morning song
bathed in orange light

three crows assemble
atop an ancient oak tree
for morning meeting

bare winter branches
will soon be sprouting new buds
springtime is coming
