Full Moon in Aries: Fire Up Your Courage

October 20, 2021 | Renée Fishman

The October full moon is known as the Hunter’s Moon. This full moon is in the sign of Aries, the first sign of the zodiac.

Signification of Aries

Aries is the sign opposite Libra, which is where the sun is. Aries is a fire sign, ruled by Mars, the warrior planet. Mars is driven, fierce, and independent. As the first sign of a season and of the zodiac, Aries cardinal sign: it initiates.

Full Moon in Aries Themes and Journal Prompts

Earlier this week, Jupiter and Mercury ended their retrograde periods and stationed direct. That means all planets are now moving forward. We once again have forward momentum.

  • What projects have felt stagnant or stuck that now are ready to move forward again?
  • What support do you need to move them forward?

The full moon is a time of culmination and release. The moon is at its biggest and brightest, the apex of its cycle.

  • What projects are coming to a peak?
  • What is coming into fruition?

Full moons also illuminate what has been hidden or out of sight.

  • What is activating within you?
  • What is ready to be seen?

Haiku for the Full Moon in Aries

Here’s a haiku poem inspired by this lunation:

full moon in Aries
arise sacred warrior
assume leadership

let the fire of Mars
ignite your revolution
fuel your inner drive

all planets direct
action is moving forward
seize the momentum

fire up your courage
step forward into your light
let yourself be seen

I love to mix it up between poetry and prose. One of my gifts is taking the esoteric and making it practical.
