When You Can’t Let It Go

When the big swells
of emotions
arise
our natural instinct
is to
run away
push them away
push through.

The more enlightened
might say
Let it go.

Sometimes they refuse.

Attached with

the emotions stick around
defying our attempts to
discard or dismiss them.

So when the charge heightens
and you can’t shake it off;
when the monster arises
within you
and you cannot seem to
let it go
then ask yourself
can I let it be?
