What to Know About Sagittarius Season

November 21, 2021 | Renée Fishman

the sun is in Sag

bring fire and optimism

welcome adventure

Each morning as I stand outside to welcome the day, I notice the position of the sun as it emerges from the horizon.

In the summer months it starts out due East. By this time of year it’s more to the south. And throughout the day, it no longer rises as high in the sky.

The shift in placement fascinates me. And then I think about it and realize:

The sun isn’t moving at all.

It is earth that is moving. Tilting in a different direction as it spins. We are sitting on this rock feeling none of this, even as it moves in two directions at once.

It’s awe-inducing. And a head trip.

Great nature is so much bigger than you and I.

Why do we dare to believe, even for a moment, that we have control over anything that is happening? Why do we dare to doubt that things will work out in our favor?

Welcome to Sagittarius season. This is the light at the end of the darkness of Scorpio season, a time for firey optimism and great adventure. Sagittarius is a seeker; it loves to explore.

Sagittarius is also a deep thinker and visionary, making this season a ripe time for deep thinking and big picture vision — fitting for this time of the year as we consider the year that we are wrapping up and looking ahead to the next year.

As the last sign of the fall season, Sagittarius is a mutable sign, making it flexible and adaptable. This is a sign that encourages letting go and moving on.

Change is the one constant in life. Even when we think we are sitting still, we are moving. So we might as well embrace it.

Let the adventure begin.
