The Full Moon in Scorpio reminds us all that we are not above being woefully flawed and human. Nor are we separate from the divine energy that brought us here.
We are always somewhere in the middle of the muck and the magic. — Chani Nicholas
Full Moon in Scorpio
Full moon energy is intense. It amplifies everything that we are feeling on the inside.
Tonight’s full moon is in the sign of Scorpio, a water sign about unearthing what’s hidden.
A full moon in Scorpio is super intense.
Water signs are all about emotions, so a full moon in Scorpio will intensify emotions.
Full moons always illuminate what’s in shadow. A full moon in Scorpio digs up what we’ve pushed under the surface and asks us to feel what we’re feeling about it.
This work is not for the faint of heart, and we often resist it. It’s easier to stay busy, to keep pushing through to our goal.
Resistance is a fight against what is. It is the ego trying to assert control.
Sometimes I find myself frustrated by an experience in the present moment; in those moments I recognize that I am wanting the situation to be different than it is.
This is the epitome of resistance.
So much energy is wasted in the fighting.
So how can we work with these things that we’d rather not look at?
That’s where another field of mysticism comes in.
Hod: Gratitude and Humility
Today is the beginning of the fifth week of the counting of the Omer. In the Kabbalah tradition this period takes us on a journey through the seven lower sefirot — the core traits of human emotion. This week’s focus is Hod, which translates to gratitude and humility. It also implies majesty and splendor.
Hod is about finding beauty in others, especially those who stumble and fall. This begins with ourselves. If we can’t find it in ourselves we won’t ever see it in others.
As we cultivate the quality of Hod, we learn to embrace our imperfections, recognizing that this is what makes us human.
Hod is about being open to the majesty of the experience you’re having, even if it feels like it’s distracting, diverting, or disconnected from your vision, or challenges your assumption of what success looks like.
When we open to what is here and we stop fighting it, resistance loses its power.
Hod is about finding the Magic in the muck.
I love when mystical wisdom converges in a meaningful and practical way.
Happy Full Moon
