Aries Season: The Courage to Leap

March 20, 2026 | Renée Fishman

The 0º Aries point is a potent place in the zodiac, the place where all things begin.

The Sun’s annual ingress into the sign of Aries (March 20, 2026 10:45 am) marks the Spring Equinox, a moment of equal day and night, and the start of the zodiacal year.

It’s a new beginning: a new season, the start of a new cycle, the inception point.

This is your chance to hit reset, reboot, and to start over — with passion and maybe a little irreverence.

Aries is a cardinal fire sign: it lights the spark, it’s hot to get moving.

This is a sign of just do it, get up and go, leap before you look.

If Aries had a motto, it might be “fire, aim, ready.” Aries is the sign of the Fool in Tarot, the innocent who leaps from the precipice without a plan. It carries no weight from its past no concern for what comes next.

It is unencumbered and uninhibited.

This is the home sign of Mars, the planet that represents our inner warrior. Aries season invites us to channel that energy: to be bold in our assertion of what we want and go after it with courage and initiative.

Aries does not hesitate. It does not wonder “what if.” It does not consider or analyze 20 alternate scenarios.

If this sounds a little scary, consider this: if you don’t have a plan, then you don’t have to worry that things won’t go according to plan.

Aries acts first and worries later — or not at all.

Aries trusts that it will figure things out along the way and that everything will work out in the end.

No man ever crosses the same river twice, for the man is not the same man and the river is not the same river.

Just like the proverbial river, each trip around the zodiac is different. because we are different and the energy of the landscape is different.

Each time the Sun enters Aries to start Aries season, the planets are in different places.

That feeling is especially potent this year, as the Sun will run into Neptune and Saturn in Aries. This is a set-up that we’ve never seen before in our lifetimes.

Read: What Does Neptune in Aries Mean For You?

In perfect Aries fashion, we are entering new territory without much indication of the landscape and how things will play out. We are all in the fool’s realm right now.

Neptune dissolves while Saturn structures.
Neptune brings illusion while Saturn brings constraints.

You might be moving forward toward an illusion, or meet up against a road block. You might feel a deeper impulse to slow things down even as you’re charging forward.

Neptune in Aries can bring passionate action for reasons that feel nebulous.

You might notice that the structures you rely on to contain your action are dissolving.

Aries energy invites us to roll with all of this, to experiment and improvise as we go. If structures dissolve, we rebuild. When the reasons feel unclear, we trust our instincts.

Aries season reminds us that we can restart at any time, that we don’t need the answers.

We only need the courage to act.
