When I was young, adults reminded us that
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me.
Today we know better. Scratches, scrapes, and broken bones are surface wounds that usually heal quickly.
Words, on the other hand, cut deeper. They seep into our subconscious. Words have immense power to shape how we see ourselves. And when repeated often enough, they become our truth.
Words have meaning. They also carry energy.
This is the philosophy behind all prayer, mantra, and incantations.
You Are What You Say
Aristotle famously said that “we are what we repeatedly do.”
It’s also true that we are what we repeatedly say.
What you speak repeatedly —especially out loud — becomes what you believe.
The same is true for what you say about yourself.
The two most powerful words in the English language are: I am.
What you say after those words shapes how you see yourself and who you become.
The way you speak about yourself become your prayer, your mantra, and your incantation. It creates and reinforces beliefs you hold about yourself.
Those beliefs become your identity. They shape how you carry yourself, what you tolerate, and what you reach for — or don’t.
You Train People How to Speak to You
This is not just about your “inner talk.”
The way you speak about yourself gives others permission to speak that way to and about you.
At all times, you are training other people how to treat you.
With your your words, you’re showing other people what’s acceptable and what you will tolerate.
Of course, the way you speak to and about yourself didn’t come from nowhere.
You learned this script from how your primary influencers — parents, siblings, teachers, and other authority figures — spoke to you.
You are under no obligation to continue that legacy.
You can choose a different script.
You can use the power of your words to reshape your identity.
By speaking more constructively to yourself, you can change how you see yourself. You will also set a new bar for what you’re willing to tolerate from others.
If you wouldn’t let someone else say it to your face (or behind your back), stop saying it to yourself.
Flip Your Script
Ready to stop talking shit about yourself — and start showing up like the version of you who knows what she’s worth?
This is the work I do with my clients.
Here’s the truth: sometimes we’re not even aware of what we’re saying.
If you’re done tolerating the old script, I can help you rewrite it — so you can reclaim your power and change what you attract.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
