The Energy of Spring

March 20, 2019 | Renée Fishman

Today is the Spring Equinox, the official beginning of spring.

The Energy of Spring

Spring is the season for new beginnings.

In the spring, we emerge from the dormancy of winter to the promise of new life, rebirth, and infinite possibilities.

This is also a time for clearing.

Spring is a time for renewal. It’s a perfect time to hit the reset button on your year and restart.

Just as the flowers start to emerge through the soil, spring is the time for breaking through the obstacles of the past that have been holding you back.

Like the new year, every change of seasons offers us the opportunity to shed what no longer serves us.

Spring energy is active; the season calls us to move after the dormancy and stillness of winter.

Spring equinox also is the new year in the cycle of the zodiac.

In the realm of nature’s cycles, this is the new year. The energy of new things is more aligned with Spring Equinox than it is with January 1.

So if you’ve been feeling behind in your year, that’s great news: you’re right on time.

Spring is the season for planting. But that doesn’t mean to go out and drop your seeds everywhere.

Equinox is a time for slowing down. At the equinox, the earth slows in its rotation. This is an invitation to us to slow as well, so that we can listen to the wisdom within and plant with intention.

This is a time for reflecting, releasing, recommitting, and rebalancing.

As with all of nature, this is a process that happens over time. It’s not a one-day deadline.

This year, the spring equinox arrived with the full moon, creating a potent energy. The full moon is a beacon for illumination.

Take advantage of the energy and light of the moon to illuminate how you are being called to move forward as you hit the reset button on your year.
