New Moon in Aries: A New Start

April 17, 2026 | Renée Fishman

It’s never too late, and you’re never too old, to start again.

You can take action at any time to bring your dream and vision to life. All it takes is a bold declaration of your intention, some courage, a structure to contain your efforts, and a willingness to heal whatever is holding you back.

That’s the message of the New Moon in Aries (April 17, 7:51 AM ET), which occurs in the waning degrees (27º28’) of the cardinal fire sign.

Right now, Aries is a hotbed of activity: Neptune, Saturn, Mars, Mercury, the Sun, Moon, and Chiron are all there, giving us the resources we need to light the spark that will catalyze action.

When so many planets are in one sign it’s called a stellium, and it pulls focus to the qualities of that sign.

As the first sign of the Zodiac, and the first sign of the spring season, Aries is all about initiation, forward movement, and action. This is the time of year when farmers and gardeners plant seeds, when Spring’s rebirth brings with it a sense of infinite possibilities.

Coming out of the depths of winter, we feel emboldened to take on new projects or make radical changes in various areas of our lives.

A new moon doubles down on that energy.

This is a perfect time to take action to start something new, knowing you’ll have the energy to support you.

Neptune helps you tap into your idealistic dream or vision.

Saturn is the voice of reason that will give you some structure and help you slow down so you’re not trying to tackle everything at once.

Mercury will help you talk about your project and plans.

Mars will help you take decisive, courageous action.

And Chiron will help you through whatever healing you need to confront to move forward.

You’re never to late for a fresh start.
