Big goals can be a motivating force, even if you don’t meet them.
On the other hand, sometimes big goals are a de-motivating force. When the goal is too big, when it seems too far out of reach, resistance can creep in.

Why not set the bar lower?
Whether it’s an annual goal like how many books you read in a year, or a daily goal for how long you’re going to workout each day, or other daily ritual, setting the bar lower can help you overcome the hurdles to starting and give you the momentum of a win to keep you going.
