Life is the constant dance between grief and joy, sorrow and hope, past and future.
And so it is that the calendar aligned: Exactly one month ago, on October 9, my beloved grandma passed. Today, my family is celebrating the Bat Mitzvahs of my twin nieces.
Over the years, my nieces have brought much joy to my life. I’ve tried to be a good role model for my nieces, but they have taught me as much as I’ve taught them. They have also been a good source of inspiration for some of my favorite blog posts.
Here are my 5 favorite essays that they inspired over the years.
- What I Learned About Mindset From a 9-Year Old On the transformative power of encouraging yourself through challenge.
- Why You Should Do a Pink Cloud Dance A reminder to embrace wonder and play — and to always make time for the joys.
- Creativity Lessons From 8-Year Olds On embracing your unique process, even if it doesn’t look like anyone else’s or doesn’t seem to produce as much of an output.
- Freedom and the Art of Letting Go On navigating the challenges to get to the other side, one step at a time.
- Time is Infinite, Life is Fleeting On the power of getting away from your screens and being present to the people around you.
