Writers can become obsessed with word counts.
They set arbitrary metrics for how many words to write a day, in the mistaken belief that writing that number of words means they’ve said something worthwhile.
What’s the magic number that will influence people to take action, a magic number that will change lives, that will make the point?
Sometimes it takes a lot of words.
Most of the time, it doesn’t take many words to create a major impact or a shift in state:

No.
Yes.
I’m sorry.
I love you.
