a chance for healing
as Mercury cazimi
exposes your wounds
Sticks and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me.
When I was a child, my mother used to repeat this to me when I would tell her about how other kids teased me.
It was her way of saying
Don’t let it get to you. Ignore it. Toughen up.
Of course, we now know that words can hurt. The invisible scars of emotional trauma become minefields of the psyche. Once buried, we may forget them for a time, until we walk into one or someone else hits it.
A comment from someone else strikes a nerve. The bomb detonates.
The wound is exposed.
Suddenly, you’re back in that place where you were as a child, hearing the same insults and feeling the same familiar feelings.
Newly hurt all over again, now you have a chance to confront the wound, heal it, and use the wisdom from that healing to help others.
Our pain is often our most powerful messenger. It can direct us to our path and our purpose — if we have the courage to confront it and do the work of healing.
That’s a big if. And it offers a big payoff.
Healing Yourself to Heal the World
Pain is universal.
Touching my own pain helps me develop empathy for others. And healing myself is the path to heralding others.
We heal the world by healing ourselves.
Mercury Cazimi: Exposes the Wound
Today we receive the opportunity for this healing as Mercury, the messenger planet, meets up with the Sun today — the Mercury cazimi.
A Mercury cazimi happens a few times a year and always brings fresh insight and downloads. Messages abound.
This round is happening in Aries, conjunct Chiron, which represent the wounded healer.
As Mercury, Chiron and the Sun coalesce, the messages we receive are most likely to come through portals of pain. The invitation is to summon our Aries courage to investigate and name our pain.
As we lean into the wound, we get the medicine we need to heal ourselves and others.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
