Many people don’t realize that they can choose their values.
The list of values that you aspire to live into doesn’t tell you “where you are” — what you currently value.
When it comes to values, actions speak louder than words.
What you do, how you behave, where you spend your time and attention, tells you exactly what you value.
If your current values aren’t representing the life you want to lead, you can choose new values. Many people so this by picking words from a list.
You might say, for example, that you want to value “health” or “fitness” or “family.”
But choosing these concepts isn’t enough.
You must define for yourself what it looks like. What actions and behaviors do you need to take every day to embody these values?
Identifying your values includes defining your behaviors that will be evidence of those values in action.
