On the heels of the Virgo new moon, the Sun moves forward to form an exact square with Uranus in Gemini.
Sun square Uranus isn’t rare; it’s an aspect that happens at least twice a year as the Sun makes its way around the zodiac.
But this particular instance is notable because it’s the first Sun/Uranus square since Uranus moved into Gemini.
It’s also the first of 7 Sun/Uranus squares that will take place in Virgo/Gemini each year from 2025 through 2031.
It therefore represents the opening chapter in a larger story — a story about disrupting your routines and your systems to find your authentic expression.
You Have a Plan
We often get caught in the illusion that life is about getting somewhere.
And Virgo is where we create the plans for the journey.
Virgo loves a plan, an agenda, a blueprint, a schedule, and a timeline.
This is a place of preparation: as we harvest the summer crops, we look ahead to plan for the long winter.
In Virgo, every leg of the journey is planned meticulously.
You’ll know how long each leg of the trip will take, where the bathroom stops are, and you can rest assured that you’ll have snacks for the journey.
It’s Not About the Destination
Plans, routines, rituals, systems, and structures can be helpful to keep us on track. They help us stay regulated in our nervous systems. They are support frameworks that hold us together.
But that’s not always what’s truly in our best interest. Sometimes we need to get off-track to remind ourselves that there’s more than one destination worth our attention.
Rituals can help is set the tone for our work and give our actions meaning and purpose.
But if we’re not conscious, they can turn into habits: unconscious actions that we do without really understanding why.

Rules can help us maintain boundaries.
But sometimes those boundaries can keep us isolated.
There’s a point at which plans become purgatory.
Routines become ruts.
Systems start to stifle you.
And the structures that once felt supportive now feel suffocating.
Sometimes, we need to break free.
That’s the job of Uranus.
Never let your rituals become habitual.
When the systems we’ve created to contain us start to confine us, we need to dismantle and disrupt them.
Uranus injects chaos into the status quo.
This is a clash between your ego’s investment in your plans and the part of you that wants to rebel.
Disruption is unsettling because we think we know best. Or we believed the authority figures who have told us that they know best.
What if nobody knows?
Reinvent Yourself
The destination you were pursuing yesterday doesn’t have to be the destination you pursue for life.
Musicians, movie stars, and entrepreneurs are always reinventing themselves.
Some writers write in many genres. Some artists work with different media.
You are under no obligation to be the same that you were yesterday, to follow the same path.
Be a rebel.
Break the rules — even your own rules.
Uproot your routine.
Be radical in your thinking.
Adopt the mindset of a revolutionary — even if just for a day, or an hour.
Tear up your blueprints and plans.
Stop listening to that inner critic that is keeping you stuck.
You don’t have to change everything.
Pick one thing to change.
When you make one small change, everything changes.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
