For most of my life, I have often felt like I do a lot more work than my peers, for results that are at best equal to what others get, and often not as good.
I tend to work harder and longer and with more struggle.
It’s taken me years to learn that part of this can be attributed to my tendency to “mask” my ADHD: to fit in with a neurotypical world, struggling to do things that aren’t my strength.
Another part of this is rooted in various inherited beliefs about success, hard work, and what I need to do to deserve the rewards of life.
They boil down to a belief that to be deemed worthy of my reward I must work hard and put in a lot of effort.
This often leads me to overwork, as I strive to prove my worthiness both to myself and to others.
It can can be exhausting, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Burnout happens often.
And I often find myself wondering:
What if it didn’t have to be so hard?
I get glimpses of an easier path. There are moments — when I’m doing things that come naturally to me in the way that comes naturally — things flow with much greater ease.
The persistent challenge for me is to learn to trust what flows, to cultivate faith in the generosity of the universe, and to believe in my inherent worthiness to receive.
Venus in Cancer Trine Neptune in Pisces: Trust What Flows
This is the invitation today as Venus in Cancer forms a trine to Neptune in Pisces.
In astrology, Venus represents our desires, money, affection and self-worth.
Neptune represents imagination, the subconscious mind and surrender.
A trine is a supportive aspect. Like a sextile, a trine is a triangle.
But unlike a sextile, which requires us to take action on opportunity to receive its support, in a trine we don’t need to “work for it.”
In a trine, the energies of the two planets just flow. And this is especially the case when both planets are in water signs.
Venus in Cancer is in the nurturing waters of the womb, while Neptune in Pisces is swimming in the ocean of oneness.
Venus trine Neptune is a dreamy, imaginative aspect that allows us to tap into Divine inspiration and channel that energy directly into an area of our world that most needs a lift.
Astrologer April Kent writes that Venus trine Neptune helps us create a healing bridge between ourselves and others.
And maybe within ourselves too.
Neptune is the higher octave energy of Venus. Where Venus is focused on material pleasure, Neptune is about an ideal utopian view of unconditional love and worthiness.
This is an aspect that is ripe for healing the beliefs we hold about worthiness and deserving, especially when it comes to love and money.
This astrology supports self-compassion, self-forgiveness, and self-worth.
It invites us to cultivate the belief that we don’t need to prove our worthiness to anyone, and to trust what flows.
And it offers us to consider the possibility that — just maybe — it doesn’t need to be so hard.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
