Are you showing up in the world in a way that is aligned with your values?
If you’re out of alignment, what needs to be cleaned up?
Today’s new moon in Virgo is an invitation to go within, to our spaces of reflection and incubation, and to sort through how we have been showing up in the world and how to bring our actions into better alignment with our values.
To be clear, all new moons are times of inner reflection and incubation — this is the central activity of the dark time.
And also some new moons are even more particularly about this.
The Virgo new moon is one that is particularly well-suited to this inner work. Virgo sorts and separates. Sometimes at a cost of perfectionism.
Virgo is a mutable sign, it ushers in a season of change. The Virgoan archetype loves to clean and organize — perhaps as a way of maintaining control in the face of the uncertainty of change.
As an earth sign, it’s also very practical. Virgo will do the work of implementing new habits and making the necessary change to stay in alignment with its values.
That’s what it’s asking of us.
The Virgo new moon aligns with the start of the month of Elul on the Hebrew calendar. The month of Elul is spent in preparation for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur — when we stand in judgment for how we are living our lives.
Before we stand before anyone else — including god — we must go within.
This new moon asks us to look honestly at what isn’t working in our lives. When we admit what isn’t working, it is easier to decide what habits we need to break and what new rituals and routines we need to implement.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
