Today brings a trifecta of planetary events that will either set us up for success or create chaos.
First: today is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the first day of summer.
Summer is the season for growing and maintaining what was planted in the spring. It is the season of persistence; a time for consistently doing the work necessary to cultivate the fruits of our labor so that we will have an abundant harvest in the autumn.
Part of the necessary work is clearing the weeds, so that they don’t interfere with the fruitful plants and trees that we wish to cultivate.
Second, tonight begins a new moon cycle. The new moon is an ideal time for fresh starts and setting intentions.
Third, today offers us a solar eclipse. Eclipses help us clear out of old patterns. They illuminate what has been in shadow and bring it to the surface so we can resolve it. They are potent catalysts for change.
New season + New moon + Eclipse = perfect time for fresh starts.
If you know how to leverage the energy. Otherwise it’s just chaos.
To leverage this energy, we must open to access a deeper wisdom. This wisdom only emerges in spaciousness, in the moments we take to settle down and do nothing.
Wisdom speaks only when we hold space for deep listening.
In a culture that rewards constant action, and in a season whose energy is all about the daily action, stopping to rest feels counterintuitive. I often feel like I “don’t have time” to rest, like I’m not doing enough, like I don’t deserve the space to be.
It’s always a challenge for me to stop and create space for these practices. And each time I do, I am reminded of their power. The time I spend resting or clearing space to listen is repaid with a bigger harvest of energy and results.
Summer is a time for consistency and persistence. But first, we must get clear on where to focus our efforts.
Give yourself the gift of rest today to get clear on where you’re going, then rev up your engine and drive.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
