create boundaries
as Venus conjuncts Saturn
focus on your joy
As Venus and Saturn meet up in the sky, they speak to one of the biggest challenges that plague many creatives and visionaries:
Setting boundaries.
Whether we are trying to protect our space or improve time management skills, it seems like this is one of those life skills that many people struggle with.
Boundaries are hard.
The Venus/Saturn conjunction brings this challenge into focus and offers us a new way to consider time management and the skill of saying no.
Connection Meets Restriction
Venus is the planet of love, beauty, pleasure, and connection. It wants to connect with people and pleasure, to take in all the beauty of life.
Saturn is the planet of saying no, setting restrictions, and creating boundaries. It also rules time. Saturn rejects whatever isn’t essential for whatever it is we are trying to build long-term.
A Venus/Saturn conjunction brings these two divergent interests together.
The Saturn/Venus conjunction teaches us to say NO to what is non-essential so we can say YES to what really matters.
The Challenge With Boundaries
When we look at this through the Saturn lens it can feel restrictive and prohibitive. We are wired to seek connection and Saturn wants to separate.
If you’re driven by connection and service, and if you want to do all the things and explore all of life, saying NO can be difficult.
Boundaries also includes time management challenging for many people.
We can make it easier by flipping the script.
Tip: Lead With Your YES
Instead of leading with the NO, with the Saturnian restriction, lead with you YES — with the thing you most desire.
Boundaries may separate, but they also contain. A fence around your garden protects your flowers from the jack rabbits that would like to snack on your flowers.
When you focus on what we want to grow, on what is most important to you, and on what fills and fuels you, creating boundaries becomes easier.
What is your YES?
The more clear you are on what you want, the easier it is to say no to what you don’t want.
The more you discover about what brings you joy, meaning, or fulfillment, the easier it is to say NO to what doesn’t fill you.
Leading with your YES also takes less energy.
Instead of expending energy on playing defense to protect your time and space, you get to play offense, filling your time and space with what matters most to you.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
