pause for a moment
behold the abundant light
of summer solstice
at summer solstice
you can change your direction
start your year again
Today is the solstice. It’s a moment in time that everyone can celebrate, as it happens for all of us.
Solstice literally means stilling of the sun. The sun appears to briefly pause in the sky from our vantage point on Earth. In the Northern Hemisphere, it represents peak lightness — the longest day. It’s our initiation to Summer.
In the Southern Hemisphere, it represents the nadir of lightness — the shortest day. It’s the initiation to winter.
The sun appears to change its direction as our days grow shorter in the northern hemisphere.
This represents an invitation and opportunity for us, too, to pause and change direction. IF you don’t like where you’re headed or where you are, you can change at any time.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
