There’s nothing worse that running at full speed towards a brick wall.
It’s inevitable that you’d end up with a bloody face.
Of course you don’t want to do that.
But many people do the equivalent of it when setting out to achieve their goals.
We are subtly — and not so subtly — conditioned through media, social media, and various messaging to believe we need certain things to be happy or to feel fulfilled.
And many of us run at full speed toward that thing. If you’re an achiever, you know how to set your sights on something to get what you want.
But what if what you think you want isn’t really what you want?
In that case you’ll either sabotage yourself or run yourself in circles chasing elusive dreams.
The work of stripping away cultural conditioning to get clear on what you want isn’t easy.
It requires radical self honesty to admit to yourself what you truly desire, and what’s really aligned with your values and the way you want to live your life.
This may take longer to flesh out. You may not get the jump that you see others getting.
But it’s better to walk towards the right target than to run towards the wall at full speed.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
