My yoga teacher Nevine Michaan, the founder of Katonah Yoga, says that “repetition leads to revelation.”
In my personal yoga practice, I often repeat the same mini-flow sequence, a variation of traditional sun salutations, dozens of times. I’ll put on a long song and continue to repeat the flow for the duration — sometimes 7 or 10 minutes. As I flow, I think less about the specific movements and open myself to insights about the practice itself.
This principle applies off the mat as well.
When your mind keeps bringing you back to a specific topic, or you notice you’re having the same conversation repeatedly, it’s a good time to tune in and ask:
What is this trying to teach me? What revelations are trying to break through?
Mercury Opposing Uranus: Sudden Revelations
When Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus (December 10, 3:59 pm ET, 28º39’), pay attention to what gets revealed through your conversations.
Mercury is the planet of communication and commerce. It is how we think, learn, and listen. Uranus is the planet of sudden and unexpected surprises.
Mercury opposing Uranus can show up as a conversation that reveals something shocking and unexpected. In Scorpio, Mercury is an investigator of deep secrets. This might show up as a formerly-hidden truth that gets unexpectedly revealed in a conversation.
Alternatively, Mercury opposing Uranus can look like a disruption to communication. Your wires are crossed. You miss signals. Perhaps your attempts to get to the bottom of something (Mercury in Scorpio as investigator) are disrupted.
Third Time’s the Charm
What gets revealed might be shocking in its nature but it’s likely not something new.
Thanks to Mercury’s retrograde from Sagittarius to Scorpio, this is the third instance of Mercury opposing Uranus that we’ve experienced since the end of October.
The first opposition occurred on October 30, with Mercury in Sagittarius and Uranus in Gemini. The next one occurred on November 19, with Mercury retrograde in Scorpio opposite Uranus retrograde in Taurus.
Look back to see what you were talking about or what messages were coming to you then. Listen carefully to the conversations happening around you, and what comes up for discussion.
The third time is the charm.
This might be the breakthrough you’ve been needing around a certain topic that keeps swirling in your mind.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
