As the mask mandate begins to ease and pandemic restrictions are rolled back, I’ve read some statements describing mask requirements as a nightmare or other inflammatory descriptions.
And… really?
Has it really been such a nightmare to cover your mouth when you go out?
Is it really such a terrible inconvenience to wear a mask?
When I think about the sacrifices that many people have made this past year, I tend to feel that if my worst complaint is that I had to wear a mask, then I’m doing ok.
The language we use to describe something directly creates our experience of it.
If you’re feeling like you’re in a prison, perhaps it’s because that’s how you’re describing your current circumstances.
A nightmare? Really?
