The planet Venus stationed retrograde on March 1 in the sign of Aries. It will appear to be moving backward in the sky until April 12, when it stations direct in Pisces.
All retrogrades are periods of review and reflection. They invite us to look at what we’ve been doing, how we’ve been spending our time, our energy, our resources. They prompt soul searching and habit evaluation.
And they invite us to question our status quo for the purpose of perhaps making changes, if that’s what’s called for.
The specific lines of questioning depends on the planet that is retrograde.
Mercury retrograde invites us to question how we communicate, or how we fail to communicate effectively.
Mars retrograde invites us to question our motivations and how we take action, or what stops our action.
Venus retrograde invites us to question our desires.
The core question of a Venus retrograde is
What do I really want?
To be sure, Venus retrogrades might bring up other themes (more on those another time), but all of that is secondary to the main question.
Venus retrograde invites us to question our assumptions about our desires, to look at our habitual acceptance of our status quo, and consider with a fresh take,
What do I really want?
It’s a simple question on the surface, but if you sit with it for a while it can get uncomfortable. This is the work of Venus retrograde: to sit in this discomfort and consider, in all self-honesty, what you really want in your life.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
