Whenever I’m feeling stuck in deciding a course of action, my first instinct tends to be to do more research, as if gathering more information and data will help. In fact, more data usually just confuses the issue more.
Instead, the better approach is to let go of the details, focus on the bigger picture, ask myself better questions, go out in the world to have experiences, and trust my intuition. By asking better questions, I reorient myself to curiosity. By venturing out to have experiences, I allow the relevant new information to come to me.
This dichotomy is on display with the Gemini Full Moon, which encourages curiosity and being open to a change in beliefs and perception.
The Full Moon culminates on December 4, 2025 at 6:14 pm ET (13º03’ Gemini/Sagittarius).
Full Moon in Gemini: Details vs Big Picture
Each full moon brings focus to a polarity on the zodiac wheel represented by two opposing signs. At the Full Moon in Gemini, the moon is in Gemini while the Sun is in Sagittarius.
Gemini gathers data and information from the immediate environment, Sagittarius connects with the bigger picture and the broader context in which we are immersed.
This is an axis of learning, language, and meaning-making. We can do that by research, learning, gathering details, and having lots of conversations — the Gemini way — or by going out into the world and having experiences. Neither way is better or worse — we ideally want to strive for both, and knowing when each approach is appropriate.
Together, these signs allow us to understand ourselves, our surroundings, and reality as a whole.
The Mid-Point Between Eclipses
At the time of the Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are in a square with the lunar nodes, a special point known as being “at the bendings.” This marks the mid-point between eclipse seasons. The most recent eclipse was at the North Node in Pisces, and the next eclipse will be at the South Node in Virgo.
The eclipse points are known as points of major change. The North Node represents what we’re moving toward. In Pisces, it invites us to lean more into our intuition and emotions and to see the big picture. The South Node represents what we’re called to release. In Virgo, it invites us to release perfectionism and attachment to details.
Open to Change in Beliefs and Perception
The Full Moon in Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which is in Scorpio. It has just stationed direct after being retrograde, and it’s now retracing its steps back over territory it has covered twice before. In Scorpio, Mercury digs beneath the surface as it investigates issues. On this third pass over the last stretch of Scorpio, we get clarity on an issue that has previously been unclear.
Mercury is also approaching an opposition with Uranus, which is currently retrograde in Taurus. Uranus brings surprise and unexpected developments. Mercury opposing Uranus can bring an unexpected piece of information or a new perspective that you hadn’t previously considered.
Get Curious and Experimental
This full moon invites an active, experimental curiosity. Instead of holing up in more research and data, venture out into the world and stay open to what you discover.
