There’s a difference between what we may think we write about and what others perceive our message to be.
Yesterday, I published to my blog for the 2,000th consecutive day. After 2,000 consecutive days of publishing, you might think that I would have hit on my niche by now.
Yet when people ask me “what’s you blog about?” I still don’t know how to answer them.
Over the past year I’ve asked people to read my blog and tell me what they see as the dominant themes. But nobody has been up to the task.
So I decided to ask a neutral third party — one who could go through over 2200 essays fairly quickly.
I asked ChatGPT.
It couldn’t provide a summary of the blog, but it said that it could provide a general overview of the themes and topics covered on the website based on its main categories.
The main categories it identified were these:
- Mindset: This category includes articles on personal growth, mindset, productivity, and motivation.
- Wellness: This category includes articles on health, wellness, and self-care.
- Relationships: This category includes articles on communication, conflict resolution, and building healthy relationships.
- Lifestyle: This category includes articles on lifestyle, travel, food, and culture.
- Creativity: This category includes articles on creativity, writing, and art.
Then it added:
Overall, the website aims to provide insights and resources for personal growth, well-being, and creativity.
At first glance, this seemed fairly accurate. Then I realized there are topics related to my work and expertise that are missing from this list.
This gives me a benchmark from which to adjust.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
