Each time life starts to fray at the edges, I hear myself saying to myself:
Just get your shit together, Renée.
Or
Why can’t you just get your shit together?
It seems I’m not the only one who says this.
One of the pop-ups on this site that invites readers (that’s you) to subscribe to my newsletter leads with the headline:
Get Your Shit Together.
It’s by far the most popular pop-up on the site among those who choose to head more from me via my newsletter.
Lately, though, I’ve been wondering about the wisdom of that approach.
Look at nature. When storms come, things fall apart. Nature doesn’t try to keep things together.
Maybe when life starts fraying at the edges, instead of trying to keep our shit together we need to let things fall apart.
Ultimate freedom is found when we have nothing left to hold onto.
Love it? Hate it? What do you think? Don't hold back...
